New Look

Talmage has a new look these days:

And, as of tonight, so does Sadie:
I actually didn't ask her to pout, she is just very unhappy that she won't be pretty for a long long time. This shows how well my almost 4 year old has been listening lately. I asked her to wait while I put her brother in bed, and this is what I get.

As for Talmage, he is very excited about his new glasses! He has had them for a little over a week now and they still aren't broken! So he has outlasted my expectations. ;) Who would have guessed we would have 2 kids in glasses by the age of 5? Oh well...

Celebrate and County Fair

Here is another old post that never got finished! This past summer while Uncle Ammon and Aunt Allison were here visiting they decided to take the kids out for a nice dinner at Olive Garden for an "Un-Birthday Party." After a nice dinner, they went to the park for a little celebration! What's in the cooler?
Birthday hats!!
And what else...?
Cupcakes and candles!!!
Allison is such a creative and cute aunt. We are very lucky to have her in our family.
After the celebration, they met Grandma and Grandpa at the county fair. My parents have a tradition now of taking the kids to the fair (it's too rich for our blood!) and they always have to ride the ponies. Well, guess what. No ponies this year, just a camel!!

Sadie was the only one brave enough to ride. So she got right on and went for a ride!
Then Talmage found a little courage to try it.
But Avri would only ride if the other kids were with her. haha.
Smiles all around!
We got all of these pictures from my brother, thank goodness he was there to take them. Kendall and I were off having a nice romantic date (with the baby). :)
We had so much fun this summer! So much so that I never had the time to blog about it. I will get there some day. :)

Swimming Lessons

I am working on cleaning out old posts that never made it to the blog. But here are some pictures of the kids in swimming lessons this past summer. They all did so great!!

This was Sadie's first year of "real" swimming lessons. She looked so little in the water, but did a great job.
They even got to jump off the diving board. Here goes Talmage.
And now Mercedes! She drew a lot of attention because she was so tiny and just diving right in!

World Famous Turkey Catcher

First, watch this video. THEN read the story below.

As you can see Talmage wasn't successful in actually catching a turkey, but he was just sure that he could catch one so that we could eat it. haha. Did you notice his choice of turkey catching paraphernalia? A ROPE? Avri had great confidence in him as well. She said "He will catch us a turkey and then he will be a WORLD famous turkey catcher!" Bwahaha. I could help but laugh right out loud!
